Burn Down the Suburbs? – Stanley Kurtz – National Review Online

The defeat of the TSPLOST was a major blow to the goals of Regionalism and you can bet the proposition will not go away quietly.
Those of you familiar with the concepts within the UN’s Agenda 21 and some recent EO’s will recognize their tie-in with this story.
Obama’s little-known plans to undermine the political and economic autonomy of America’s suburbs constitute a policy initiative similar in ambition to healthcare reform .   This is Obama’s missing link  that explains his administration’s overall policy architecture.

BEWARE:   You’ll being hearing this phrase  more in Obama campaign and in his administration “

Building One America”.   Redistributing wealth between Suburbia and Urban communities by of

Grassroots Coalition Formed to Oppose TIA / T-SPLOST

Launches TrafficTruth.net website to inform voters     about TIA / T-SPLOST vote on July ballot.

May 1, 2012, Roswell, GA – Transportation Leadership   Coalition, LLC, announces the launch of their grassroots campaign to inform voters of the truth about the proposed regional transportation sales tax (T-SPLOST).

On March 31, 2012, approximately 75 grassroots activists representing several organizations, along with elected officials who opposed the 1% sales tax, gathered at Adventure Outdoors in Marietta, Georgia, to educate themselves on the proposed 1% sales tax statewide referendum.

“We put out the invitation to various grassroots organizers to meet under one roof and learn more about this tax. We were very pleased with the response from across the state as far south as Valdosta,” said Jack Staver, chairman of Transportation Leadership Coalition.

The result of this meeting was a coordinated effort to oppose the sales tax that is touted to alleviate traffic congestion in the metro Atlanta area. From this meeting and subsequent meetings and conversations, the Transportation Leadership Coalition, LLC (“TLC”) was formed.

The focus of TLC is to educate the public on the claims of MAVEN (Metro Atlanta Voter Education Network), a pro-sales tax advocacy group, and Untie Atlanta (Citizens for Transportation Mobility), David Stockert, chairman, who is also CEO of Post Properties. The primary education vehicle for TLC will be its website, TrafficTruth.net, as well as email and social media.

Some of the key points of TLC are:
Proposed rail projects will not relieve traffic congestion.
T-SPLOST is not a “temporary tax;” Ultra-expensive projects will require billions more to complete than the allocated tax amount.
There is a ‘Plan B’.
“MAVEN is well funded to the tune of $2,000,000, some of which is through the unconstitutional use of taxpayer money from CID’s. We are truly a grassroots, volunteer-driven organization that is self-funded through donations,” said Staver. “We dispel the myths about traffic solutions claimed by ARC through our fact sheet, which can be downloaded from our website, TrafficTruth.net. The 2-page document provides voters with real facts and real numbers that rebut every falsehood from ARC, MAVEN, and Untie Atlanta.”

Other organizations are also opposed to the tax plan including the NAACP, Sierra Club, 9-12 projects, Georgia Campaign for Liberty, and Tea Parties. While these groups all oppose the tax for different reasons, the T-SPLOST is proving to TLC that there are clear issues with the plan and the tax across the board.

“One big question is why is it legal for an organization like ARC to use taxpayer dollars to tell lies and falsehoods to the voters? If the T-SPLOST was such a great idea, why do they need $2 million plus an additional $6 million from Untie Atlanta for an advertising campaign to spin it and sell it to the people of Georgia? One would think they could deliver a winning message without resorting to lying to the voters. And finally, why would the people of Georgia want to give up local control, also known as ‘home rule’?”

TLC is encouraging public debate on the topic to include both sides of the issue.

About Transportation Leadership Coalition, LLC

Transportation Leadership Coalition, LLC, is an all-volunteer organization that has come together in the belief that the State of Georgia can do a much better job of transportation planning than passing the largest tax hike in Georgia history and spending the money on politically-favored rail projects, trapping us into a tax situation that will continue forever. We believe that if Georgians understand the facts about the project list and the proposed management of the funds and projects, they will overwhelmingly reject it.

GA State Resolution 730 Jan 25, 2012 BAN ICLEI – AGENDA 21

On Wednesday, January 25, 2012, Senate Resolution 730 was introduced, read, and referred in the Georgia State Legislature. Bill SR 730 would recognize the destructive and insidious nature of the United Nations’ Agenda 21 and reject any affiliated radical policies and any grant monies attached to it, including any involvement with the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI).

The United Nations’ Agenda 21 was the name given to the UN’s official
program on ‘sustainable development’ that was first unveiled, as a
1,000 page report, at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), also known as the Earth Summit, held in Rio de Janeiro,Brazil, on June 3-14, 1992.

Maurice Strong, the Secretary-General of the United Nations 1992 Earth
Summit had this to say about sustainable development: “Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class involving high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work air conditioning, and suburban housing – are not sustainable.”

Since Agenda 21 was not an official treaty, it did not require ratification
by the U.S. Senate and has instead penetrated the American heartland and coastal regions through the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI), which now prefers to be known as ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability.

ICLEI was founded in 1990, as the ‘International Council for Local
Environmental Initiatives,’ at the World Congress of Local Governments for a Sustainable Future, held at the United Nations in New York City.
According to its website, ICLEI describes itself as “an association of over 1220 local government Members who are committed to sustainable development.” Spanning over “70 different countries and representing more than 569,885,000 people,” ICLEI facilitates local governments in the implementation of UN Agenda 21.

Agenda 21 supports a communitarian/communist policy of wealth distribution and the erosion of private property rights in order to achieve what it calls the preservation of “open space.”

The reason for this disregard for private property rights is due to the
United Nation’s view on private property. According to “Section Property rights and the use of biological resources” of Global
Biodiversity Assessment (1996), published for the United Nations Environment Programme: “Property rights are not absolute and unchanging, but rather a complex, dynamic and shifting relationship between two or more parties, over space and time.”

This interpretation of property rights is a far cry from the Founding
Fathers. President George Washington said, “Private property and freedom are inseparable.” His successor, President John Adams said, “The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the law of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it,anarchy and tyranny commence.”

If Agenda 21 is fully implemented it will eventually terminate your right to own property; and once that fundamental right is lost tyranny is able to flourish. Your ability to live the lifestyle you desire, your freedom to
pursue and reach the American dream of owning a large home and raising a family, and the means to travel as you see fit are all at jeopardy so long as your local government adheres to the principles and protocols of Agenda 21 and sustainable development.

You can help Stop Agenda 21 and ICLEI in Georgia. Please contact your State Representative and State Senator; as well as House Speaker Ralston and encourage them to vote YES, in favor of SR 730.

SMART METERS ARE HERE IN GEORGIA…..  If you don’t have one now you will soon.   Call your local Electric Power Board , tell them NO to the “Smart Meter”  More details later on how to stop the Smart Meter.  Editor

LINK:  http://www.wnd.com/2012/02/texans-demand-freedom-from-smart-meters/

More than 100 Texans have joined together to petition public utilities regulators to ban so-called “smart” power meters because of the health threats they impose on the general public.

The meters are designed to interact with various advanced electronic appliances to monitor – and even manipulate – the use of power.

“Petitioners who have been subjected to forced or compelled installation of smart meters or have been exposed to RF and EMF radiation generated by smart meters fraudulently installed on neighboring homes and businesses have experienced difficulties with symptoms of insomnia, headaches, dizziness, nausea and other symptoms,” states the petition, submitted to the Public Utilities Commission of Texas by attorney Tom Cryer on behalf of Devvy Kidd, John Kidd and more than 100 others.

Cryer said his goal is to obtain a ruling on the dangers of the meters based on the health risks they pose.

“It’s like rushing thalidomide to the market … and not knowing the consequences,” he said, referring to the 1950s and 1960s use of the drug that caused major birth defects for children whose mothers used it.

He said the problem is the radio signals generated by the units.

“The meters are being pressed by the utilities in anticipation of charging different rates for usage at different times of the day and night, providing the utilities with a premium for peak times and increasing their profits,” explained an announcement about the petition.

“Utilities also claim that the smart meters will permit them to communicate with ‘smart’ appliances, such as air conditioners, dryers and water heaters, turning them off when demands on the system would otherwise require adjustments in electricity distribution on the grid, saving utility companies money. Many, however, are opposed to the installation of the meters because they are a serious health risk, compromise the consumers’ privacy and provide no savings or conservation purposes.”

Cryer’s arguments continued, “The ‘smart’ meters will not save the consumer any money, since he will be subjected to higher time of day based rates and to interruption of his use of appliances. The meters will not reduce the amount of electricity a customer uses nor will it result in any savings.”

He noted several state legislators have requested a moratorium on further installations until the meters can be tested. Many of their constituents, the lawmakers say, have reported that after installation of the meters their bills suddenly became much higher although their use of electricity did not change.

He said consumers oppose them for privacy and cost reasons, but the biggest danger is the “known health risks.”

Cryer said the current petition developed after Devvy and John Kidd, residents of Big Spring, went nose to nose with their utility in July 2011, when the corporation wanted to install a “smart” meter on their home.

Devvy is an investigative journalist who began researching the health risks and due to her husband’s medical issues decided to fight installation. When the utility decided to play hardball by threatening to terminate power to their home, she hired Cryer.

John Kidd is a retired U.S. Army colonel and classified as medically disabled. Texas law prohibits terminating power to any home where a disabled person resides. Their concern was with the radio frequency radiation and electromagnetic frequency radiation from the meter that penetrated their home day and night.

“After decades of study the scientific community and government health related agencies are warning people to avoid additional exposures to RF and EMF radiation because it has been linked to many ailments including minor issues, such as headaches, nausea, dizziness, to life threatening, such as heart function interference, brain function interference, jamming of pacemakers and insulin injectors, DNA disruption causing birth defects and even cancer,” Kidd said.

The utilities have been unrelenting, however.

The result is the petition requesting an immediate moratorium on further installations as well as a hearing on the risk to public safety from the meters.

Cryer told WND that other states are facing the same issues and  have decided against the technology upgrades. But those decisions largely have been based on the nonexistent cost savings related to them.

He said the Texas case focuses on the health risks.

Action movie actor, martial arts champion and WND columnist Chuck Norris earlier confronted the issue.

He asserted that complaints about ailments from the “electrosmog” are not hysteria or hype.

“Electrosmog is pollution through electromagnetic energy. It is being produced by this vast post-Edison world, in which electromagnetic fields and flows have inundated the space around us,” he wrote.

He cited the work of Dr. David Carpenter, head of the New York State Department of Health for years, who said there is evidence that radio frequency exposure at elevated levels for long periods of time raises the risk of cancer and damage to the nervous system.

Also, author Brian Sussman in “Climategate” warns readers about the Smart Grid, Smart Meters, Smart Thermostats and Energy Star appliances – which he says will allow unseen bureaucrats to regulate all of the appliances in America’s homes.

“This is not fantasy,” says Sussman, an award-winning television meteorologist, “This is reality. Smart Meters have already replaced the whirling, old-fashioned electric meters on the side of millions of houses in America – they monitor electricity usage minute-by-minute and can be read remotely. The remote-controlled Smart Thermostats are being installed as well and further enable bureaucratic control the temperature of your abode. The Smart Grid, which was mandated in the 2007 energy bill and funded with ‘stimulus’ money, is coming next. The grid will possess interactive broadband capabilities to further control all of the new-generation Energy Star appliances you will be forced to purchase – like your washer, dryer, water heater and even your flat-screen TV.”

The petition alleges not only are the meters a danger, the utilities, Oncor, Centerpoint, Texas-New Mexico Power, AEP Texas Central and AEP Texas North “have engaged in a concerted and deliberate campaign to impose the installation, use and operation of so-called ‘smart meters’ on electricity consumers in their homes and businesses, both against their expressed opposition and without their valid and free and voluntary informed consent.”

The “injury and illness, both immediately inflicted and gradually inflicted by the smart meters’ RF and EMF radiations is being imposed daily and such harm is irreparable,” the petition contends.

If you haven’t seen this, I think you want to become familiar with it.

Everybody pretend your name is Bill and follow the directions given, please. For those of you who don’t know, promoting sustainability is a code word for regionalization and loss of Home Rule (meaning your county or municipality would lose their governance of your principality, folks that you voted for as your elected officials to run, for you the citizens of that county/city). Instead some regional council would be who decides what the rules are that you must live by! (Hence loss of Home Rule)Bill

P.S. These groups have a head start on us, so we have to catch-up to stop them from usurping our control of our living environment.
