OPEN LETTER TO: Speaker Ralston and Senator Gooch – STOPPING FEDERAL OVER-REACH

By:  Jack Smith

The time has come for Georgia to speak loud and clear to Washington and the absolute over-reach of the Federal Government and Federal Agencies.
Our Constitution grants only 17 enumerated powers to the Central Government. All other powers belong to the states and/or the people respectively.
We need immediate legislation that makes it clear to Washington, that the un-elected heads of various agencies have NO authority to mandate that citizens or companies within the state, comply with any proposed regulations or mandates that are outside of the 17 enumerated responsibilities of the Federal government. The burdens being placed upon individuals and companies within Georgia by these agencies such as: EPA, Energy, Transportation, Education and etc. must come to an immediate halt.
We know this is contrary to what has been taking place over the last many decades, but we can no longer allow the Central Government to remain unchecked. The founders were very skeptical of an all powerful central government and that is why they limited their responsibilities. The so called Supremacy Clause applies only to the 17 enumerated powers. So please, act quickly and decisively.
Respectfully

Jack Smith
